While your students see the fun, engaging robotics project in front of them, you see them designing tomorrow’s breakthrough innovation. Today, that classroom project may be building a scale model of an electric car. Tomorrow, it’s the next generation of Mars rovers, the prototype of a machine that will save lives, or an eco-friendly turbine that will change how we view energy.
And it all started in the classroom.
MINDS-i Robotics Education is designed to give students an interactive approach to STEM learning and develop the skills they’ll need to excel in their careers.
Why Use MINDS-i?
Did you know that by 2022, there will be an estimated 9 million STEM-related jobs in the US? Right now, there are not enough students on the STEM track to fill these openings.
There are many reasons for this shortfall. However, educators are working diligently to close the gap by providing an energizing STEM learning environment. So, is MINDS-i Robotics, with its fun and engaging labs.
These MINDS-I labs feature high-tech rovers and drones that are easy to build, program, and modify in an educational setting. All classroom tools perform impressive real-world tasks to develop your students’ excitement for STEM careers, while giving them the skills necessary to excel.
Robotics Is Fundamental
Robotics offers a hand-on, fully involved way to teach all the STEM disciplines: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. And Minds-i labs and kits offer accessible ways to bring robotics education into the classroom, all the while preparing students for the workplace.
In short, Minds-i labs are exceptionally fun and they’re an easy way to ensure a scalable curriculum. While teaching robotics within your class, there is always something else to learn and something new to teach.
In addition, these robotics labs are also very affordable, especially given all that they offer students and educators. Students can learn how to code and program, even participate in robotics competitions. Indeed, robotics and Minds-i labs open many doors for students and educators.
MINDS-i Robotics Labs
Technical Training Aids offers three of MINDS-i’s most popular STEM labs that work for students at all grades and skill levels.
Minds-i STEM Robotics Foundations Lab
Robotics is widely considered an essential discipline that the current generation must understand to succeed in a competitive, innovative era. Since robotics integrates mechanical, electrical, electronics, software engineering, technology, math, science, and breakthrough technologies, the education opportunities are virtually limitless.
The Minds-i STEM Robotics Foundations Lab is a great starting place for students with little to no familiarity with STEM Robotics. In this foundational course, students learn the basics of mechanical and electrical engineering. By assembling and modifying rovers, they will discover how to analyze a robot’s physical, mathematical, and scientific elements.
Each lab is one semester (45 hours) and is designed for 3-5 students.
MINDS-i STEM Robotics Drone Labs
Drones are becoming increasingly popular among several industries. For example, global shipments via drones are expected to reach 2.4 million in 2023 and increase at a 66.8% compound annual growth rate. This growth will occur across five segments of the economy: agriculture, construction and mining, insurance, media and telecommunications, and law enforcement. With a solid educational foundation, your students can become an integral part of these industries.
The MINDS-i STEM Robotics Drone Labs take learning to the next level. These labs use UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) to explore programming, electromechanical systems, and aerodynamics. Students will design, build, and program drones that model:
- Aerial search and rescues
- GPS-guided crop dusting
- Autonomous deliveries to remote locations
- Other industry-related challenges!
With a single drone, students will gain valuable skills and insight that could lead them confidently in the direction of their future careers.
Drone labs are available in one semester (45 hours) and two semesters (90 hours), and are designed for 3-5 students.
MINDS-i Electric Car Lab
Roughly 10 years ago, only about 17,000 electric cars were on the world’s roads. By 2019, this number exceeded 7 million, and the International Energy Agency says that the number of electric vehicles is expected to hit 145 million by 2030. Your students have an overwhelming opportunity to be central to this industry, amid rising demand for both the product and the workforce.
The MINDS-i Electric Car Lab and curriculum encourages problem-solving, critical thinking, and innovation with easy-to-build robotic cars. This lab will introduce your students to variables of force and motion, electrical engineering, and energy transfer through the fast and sleek 1/10th scale electric car.
