Stratasys continues to lead technical education into the world of 3D Printing. On May 17th, they rolled out several exciting product announcements for the 2nd Quarter. These innovations show their commitment to leading in both technology and value.
ST130 for Sacrificial Tooling
Sacrificial tooling has opened up options to industrial engineers and designers. Stratasys is proud to announce a big leap forward with a new material for sacrificial tooling applications. ST130 delivers higher strength, reduced wash out times, and better performance under heat and pressure. Your students can use this new material to test what is possible with a reduced need for mold making and increased Geometric Complexity.
ST130 supports a maximum cure temperature of 121º C and glass transition at 130º C.
ST130 is compatible with the Fortus 450mc and the Fortus 900mc.
Fortus 900mc Acceleration Kit
The Fortus 900mc Acceration Kit allows you to cut your time to build large parts by a ½ to ⅔. It is compatible with ASA (XTEND 500 Fortus Plus recommended) and ULTEM 1010/ULTEM 1010CG.
There are a few things to keep in mind with the acceleration kit. The higher build rate can lead to increased melting and stepping, increased minimum wall thickness, and a loss of fine feature detail. While you do lose some of the Fortus 900’s precision, the acceleration kit is for you if you have a need for speed.
ULTEM 9085 Aerospace Resin
The ULTEM 9085 Aerospace Resin is specifically designed to meet the needs of the aerospace industry including raw resin testing and inspection, batch filament product testing, additional filament QA testing, full backward traceability, and custom canister and box labeling. Each unit comes with a certificate of conformance for the lot of raw resin and a certificate of analysis for each customer shipment.
ULTEM 9085 Aerospace Resin is compatible with the Fortus 450mc and the Fortus 900mc.
PC-ABS on Fortus 380mc/450mc
PC-ABS has been one of our most popular materials because of its impact strength, rigidity, flexibility, feature definition, surface finish, and soluble support. Until now, this cutting edge material was only available for the Fortus 250mc and the Fortus 900mc. We are pleased to announce that it is now compatible with the Fortus 380mc and the Fortus 450mc.
SUP706 on Objet260 Connex3
SUP706 is a soluble support material that has really caught on in dental applications. This material is now available on the Objet260 Connex3. SUP706 allows hands free post processing, easily cleans fine details, enables cleaning of complex internal cavities, and is biocompatible.
GrabCAD Print Beta
We believe that we have saved the best for last. Stratasys is announcing a Beta release of their new GrabCAD software. GrabCAD makes professional 3D printing easy and accessible by allowing you to view CAD assembly hierarchy, manage multiple trays for different printers under a single project in addition to a number of other remarkable features.
