SUMMARY:MSSC Virtual Summit: Closing the Skills Gap in Texas in the Manufacturing and Logistics Sectors
DESCRIPTION:The Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) invites you join us August 20th for our virtual Summit\, “MSSC: Closing the Skills Gap in Texas in the Manufacturing and Logistics Sectors.” This Summit will be an extraordinary gathering of many of the most prominent business\, government and education leaders in Texas and selected national experts. \nIt will highlight MSSC’s unique role in training and certifying large numbers of Texans in both Manufacturing and Logistics (M&L)\, two closely interrelated parts of the Texas economy with about the same number of front-line jobs (543\,000 for M\, and 482\,000 for L). \nThis Summit is free to attend and is open to attendees virtually nationwide. This will also give our MSSC Community an opportunity to learn from state agencies and critical community-based stakeholders\, i.e.\, WIBs\, secondary\, post-secondary\, industry\, economic development\, corrections\, and veterans/military program organizations. Please attend\, learn\, and share best practices within your states and communities. \nThe deadline to register is August 18th. For question or to request the agenda\, please contact Catherine Feeney\, Senior Marketing Manager\, MSSC at: cfeeney@msscusa.org \n

SUMMARY:Stratasys Webinar - The Workforce Development Challenge: Bridging the Additive Manufacturing Skills Gap
DESCRIPTION:Date: May 26th \nTime: 11:00am – 12:00pm CDT \nLocation: Online \nSpeakers: \n\nVince Anewenter\, Director – RPC Consortium\, Milwaukee School of Engineering\nJazmin Darden\, Instructor\, Dunwoody School of Technology\nGina Scala\, Marketing Director – Global Education\, Stratasys\n\nAdditive manufacturing has the potential to transform manufacturing supply chains – speeding processes and reducing costs. And its impact is seen across every industry\, from aerospace to medical devices. Unfortunately\, one of the most overlooked aspects of Additive Manufacturing is workforce development. \nWhile the technology continues to evolve\, there’s a widening gap between these advanced solutions and the certified professionals to drive them. Not only is there a lack of industry-endorsed proof of workforce-ready AM skills\, but this development is often inconsistent. Across industries\, there’s a growing need for highly skilled additive manufacturing workers for key industry jobs. With access for schools to more than $2 billion in workforce development funding from the government – specifically for training programs – now is the time to put a spotlight on your students and the need for AM certification.
