The Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC), a 501(c)3 non-profit, is an industry-led, training, assessment and certification system focused on the core skills and knowledge needed by the nation’s front-line production and material handling workers. The nationwide MSSC System, based upon industry-defined and federally-endorsed standards, offers both entry-level and incumbent workers the opportunity to demonstrate that they have acquired the skills increasingly needed in the technology-intensive jobs of the 21st century. MSSC offers two certifications for this workforce: Certified Production Technician (CPT) & Certified Logistics Technician (CLT)

Once the CPT certification is acquired, a student may then pursue the CPT+ certification. These students will earn an individual certificate for each of the topic areas they are trained and assessed on for the Certified Production Technician (CPT)+ training:

* Safety+

* Quality Practices & Measurement+

* Manufacturing Process & Production+

* Maintenance Awareness+

Students will obtain a more rounded understanding of the subject matter by training on the hands-on Skill Boss device while simultaneously going through the online CPT training courses. Candidates are required to first pass the online CPT assessment before they can take the equivalent CPT+ hands-on assessment.

Example, student must first pass the CPT Safety assessment prior to taking the CPT Safety+ hands-on assessment on the Skill Boss device. For steps on how to order the CPT+ assessments, follow this link.

This program is designed to prepare certificants with the next generation skills to work in a computer-driven, data-intensive advanced manufacturing workplace.
