DESCRIPTION:This workshop is for girls who have basic coding skills (Scratch\, Code.org\, Tynker) and a strong desire to learn. This workshop is recommended for girls 6th grade and up and is limited to 20 girls. \n\n\n\nIn this Girls Code workshop presented by TechBirmingham\, girls will learn the basics of 3D design and use that to create a piece of jewelry that the event sponsor Technical Training Aids will print with their commercial-grade Stratasys 3D printers and will be sent via US mail upon completion. By the end of the workshop\, girls will have made new friends\, learned to create 3D designs\, learn how 3D printing works and how it can be used\, and most importantly\, be inspired to be a techie! \nFAQs\nWhere is the event? \nThe workshop is being held at the Innovation Depot Training Lab\, located at 1500 1st Ave N\, Birmingham\, AL 35203. Please bring your daughter into the lobby for check-in and she will be escorted to the Training Lab. \nWhat time can I drop my child off? \nYou may drop your child off when Check-in starts at 8:30 am. There is no on-site registration. \nWhat can/can’t I bring to the event? \nPlease bring a laptop or Chromebook to this event. Your daughter will need it to participate in the workshop. DESCRIPTION:Technical Training Aids is proud to be partnering with the following industries to provide a hands-on workshop the week of July 24th thru 28th at The Academy at the Fairhope Airport: \n\nFANUC Robotics – Paul Aiello\, FANUC Educational Sales Manager\nFANUC CNC – Dean Steadman\, FANUC CNC Educational Manager\nAPT Manufacturing – Tony Nighswander\, President & Chad Wilford\, Education Sales Director\nLevil – Andres Leon\, Operations Manager\nSolidWorks – Ryan Koehler\, Global Field Operations Specialist\nAmatrol – Kent Powell\, National Sales Manager & Dan Heim\, Southeast Sales Manager\nMinds-i – Levi Wilson\, General Manager\nAutel Robotics – Presented by Technical Training Aids\nDARTdrones – Presented by Technical Training Aids\n\nWe will discuss the FANUC Robotics and CNC certification procedure\, requirements\, and locations.  The curriculum\, including on-line software\, books\, materials will be available.  Levil CNC milling and Lathe equipment will be on-site\, which is used in the FANUC certification\, and will be presented by Levil and FANUC.  APT Manufacturing Solutions\, one of FANUC’s largest integrators\, will be on site all week to present hands on opportunities with Robotics and Automation.  They are showcasing an automated SIM cell that includes FANUC robotics\, AB area safety control and an industrial conveyor.  FANUC and Rockwell have developed a certification that will be covered. \nAmatrol will present MSSC\, NIMS Industrial Maintenance Certification\, PMMI\, and other certifications and eLearning\, including Amatrol’s LAP’s and Student reference guides. These certifications take hours of study\, preparations and testing\, both on-line and on-site.  This workshop will not have the time needed to offer a certifications test in these areas\, but will help you prepare for them. \nSolidworks will be on-site Thursday and Friday to offer a CSWA certification\, you will attend a prep day on Thursday and certification on Friday.  The certification cost is $350.00 if you choose to do it. \nDARTdrones will be offering a video conference program on Thursday and Friday and will be covering the requirements for the part 107 Drones certification.  The actual test is only offered at approved FAA locations\, published on the FAA website.  We will cover the questions and requirements for the test and include a practice exam.
